Sketchy Lady

Back again. May has been one busy month, but I'm back.
During my hiatus I've come across three things in particular that I love.

1. Pinterest- the most amazing little spot on the web where you can essentially make collages of all things near and dear. It's so much fun to play with and get lost in.

2. Sketches by Inslee- This little blog makes my heart smile! Filled with the cutest fashion sketches. I'm tempted to buy a print (or seven) and at some point get customized stationary. I mean, how incredible would that be?

3. Finally, I'm not much into wedding dresses, but Christian Dior's take on something blue has knocked my socks off. And I want to get a dress like this just for fun.

I've been a Bad Bad Girl!

Hey there! Sorry I've been MIA for the past 2 weeks. It's been a whirlwind here. But there is one thing I have to tell you all about.

I was down in North Carolina for a wedding this past weekend. I had put off getting a dress until the last possible moment, and ended up with a cute blue ruffle dress from Nordstrom. It was a little bit pricey ($180) but I thought I could use it for other weddings this summer.

I get down to the wedding and realize my best friend has the same color dress too. Oh well, we laughed and got to the wedding, only to find that same cobalt blue on the bridesmaids. Yeah. Sweet.

Again we laugh it off and head to the reception. We eat dinner and then the DJ starts spinning some tunes. I jump up to dance, and while on the dance floor, rippppppp. There goes the back of my dress and to my horror my rear end is fully exposed. Yes. I am not lying.

We find a safety pin, a friend lends me spanx, and I head back to the party ready to brush it off (after a glass of wine of course).

I would find no such ease. Next up, my delicate little spagehtti strap suddenly POPS off, the front of my dress comes tumbling down and there I am exposed once more. This dress has now failed me in every way a dress really can. Front and back.

By the time we get back to the hotel my key, wallet, entire purse is misplaced. In my full on look of shame, I march up to the front dress and ask for a new key to get into my rom. They look me up and down (dress ripped, strap broken, holding up the front of the dress like my life depended on it) and asked me for identification. I looked at them and said "Do I look like I have any identification on me?" The horror on their faces said it all. I got that key, marched upstairs, and started cracking up to myself of how utterly ridiculous this debacle was.

At brunch the next morning (and really every moment since) I've been recapping this story and laughing myself to tears. Thankfully Nordstrom gave me a full refund, and I've got the best wedding story ever.... until next time.

It's Love

I've got a wedding coming up in less then two weeks. I spent my entire day Saturday shopping for an outfit which never appeared. It was basically a giant FAIL. I hate that. Now while I may not be loving any dresses,  sure am loving some shoe.

I've searched high and low and decided the Kingdom Steve Madden's are the cutest nude flat. These bad boys are in the mail right now :)

Next up, these adorable Juicy clutches. If they don't scream summer, I don't know what does.

And finally.... I die for these! I've almost ordered them three times today.
