I have a confession. I have only purchased 2 "grown up" bags in my life. By grown up, I mean something that did not come from Express or Forever 21. I cherish these two bags for every penny they are worth, but....

Since I returned from a few weeks of travel, started my job with much more travel in sight, and also ripped a big gaping hole in the corner of my workout duffel bag, I realized a new bag is in order. One that could hold a laptop, my gym shoes, and double as an easily accessible purse for travel while obviously looking professional and chic. It was a challenge to say the least.

Shop Like it's your Birthday

Wow, I can't believe it's Wednesday night already! These last few days have flown by as the rest of December has. I really don't want to miss out on the holiday season this year, so I better jump on the eggnog drinking/Mariah Carey singing/ Christmas gift buying, real quick.

I wanted to update you on some fun birthday presents I gave myself this 25th birthday :)


Up first is this white and black slim cut blazer with slight shoulder pads. It's no secret in my office that I'm a big fan of the blazer. And I've been on the hunt for a white blazer, FOR EVER. Last Friday was my lucky day. While the Zara picture looks just so-so, this baby fits like a glove from the softball team I never played on.

The next two purchases seem to already be sold out and off the Zara website. Thank you birthday gods, that although you sent me to jury duty on my birthday, you forgivingly cut me slack and didn't have the these sought after items sell out of stock before I could scoop them up. First is this gorgeous glitter pouch. I actually purchased a black/silver one for myself, but you get the picture.

Finally, I got this awesome crocheted top in black. It really rocks, and I'm so upset I can't find a good picture to show you. I'm going to have to start taking some of my own. This one, also from Zara, is kinda close. Obviously, I rock a tank under see through clothes.

On the Town

It's really starting to feel like fall here and I'm almost enjoying it. It was a crisp morning with a bit of chill, perfect weather for a cute trench coat. Followed by a New Orleans breakfast with my best friend and her mom.



Then we headed on over to Old Town Alexandria for a little bit of shopping. I found these two adorable pieces. Only got to take the clutch home with me though.

I don't know who this clutch is by, but it's absolutely adorable for fall. Found it at Lou Lou Boutique in Old Town.

Don't you just love crisp morning shopping? Now I need to clean out my closet to make room for fall.

It's been a busy and beautiful past few days. Happy hour on the waterfront, 1st birthday for my cousin, AMAZING concert last night. Do yourself a favor and check out Devotchka.

 A Chevron cosmetic bag. I've been hunting for a new one for ages and remember how I heart chevrons.

 A pop of color never hurt anyone.

 An Aztec bag just sounds cool (and would fit allll my beach stuff). Ahem, Target can you make a cheaper version? I know my friend living it up in Aussie land needs this one.

I swore I would never wear an anorak jacket, but then I saw a girl wearing one on the street and looking so chic yesterday. I had to rethink my position.

If you don't know, I'm a girl that loves blazers. Unabashedly.
